Best bang for the buck
The speaker’s were a replacement for the stock speaker’s on my 2005 Electra Glide fairing. While they are not marine grade speaker’s, I installed them anyway since I don’t ride in wet weather. The sound was like night and day, and it was a big improvement over the stock speaker’s.

Item info and understanding what it means
This is for the 4 inch speakers.Ok, this is not your standard review, I have a lot of friends that ask me about what speakers to buy. So the first part is info you need to know in buying a speaker. This is not a full list, just what I looked for in picking this speaker over others. Being car audio the bar is low to start with.Impedance 4 Ohms, is standard car audioRMS power 30W, this is the number to look for not MAX power. I wish the car audio world would stop stating MAX watts.SPL 86dB @ 1w/1m, Why is this number important, it is how loud the speaker is 1 meter away at 1W. Understanding how power works with the RMS power is important. Double the power add 3dB, so at the full RMS power ~101dB now this is at 1 meter away. So both speakers at full RMS power would be ~104dB at 1 meter away. But -6dB for each doubling of distance. At 2 meters away both speaker would be at 98dB.Frequency response 65Hz to 20KHz, If you are looking for bass 65Hz is not to bad for a 4" speaker at this price.Cutout diameter: 92mm / 3.6” FYI: the cut size will be smaller than the speaker size.Ok my thoughts on the speakers. I'm using them in an arcade cabinet, and wanted something better than the standard cabinet speakers. One of the first things I wanted was some bass response below 80Hz. That nice low end sound is in the 80Hz ballpark. They have some good bass response when I tested them on my table. Which is the worst case, an enclosure will help with the bass response. I did have to add some bass on the EQ on my amp to get the bass I wanted, but just the fact I could do it was good with me.Next I also wanted high dBs at half power, so they did seem loud, I was using an amp that can't push to the max RMS watts, so I can't say how well they sound at max RMS watts, I would recommend an amp with an RMS of 50W. Yes that is more than the max RMS wattage. But it's better to run an amp at half power than full power. The "mid's" and "high's" sound well and if you have a 2 or 3 band EQ (High/Low or High/Mid/Low) you will what to cut some of the highs.Last most people I know don't EQ there speakers well, so here is what I do.1st set your EQ to zero on all the bands, High/Mid/Low2nd I play different types of music and ones i know how they should sound3rd turn up the speakers to as loud as you can take it or about 85-90% max volume which ever is lower (This is very important)4th adjust the highs first and work down to the lows, most of the time the Mids will need to be turned down by doing the highs first you shouldn't have to boost the bass to the max.

Lower wattage than advertised
No where near wattage advertised. Can't get past half volume before they start distortion. Sound good up til then.
