Hakuho Sculpture (Franklin D. Murphy Lecture Series)

Obscure but interesting
This book covers a field before unknown to me, which is early Japanese Buddhist sculptures, in gilt bronze, from the 6th into the 8th Centuries A.D. This is pre Heian period, in Japan's formative years, and reflects the influence of China, and Korea. Very good reference book for those interested in early Asian Buddhist art.
