won't stay lit...tried several boxes ...everyone is the same

I originally received a sample pack of this scent with my bulk order of classic Nag Champa and it smelled incredible, one of my favorites of all time. I loved it so much that I ordered the bulk package, and upon opening the box my nostrils were assaulted by a putrid stench that can only be described as “a towel covered in floral soap used to scrub an infected sphincter”. My disappointment cannot even be put into words. They lure you in with a free sample of high quality incense only to turn around and sell you a box of excrement. Don’t fall for it! If I could rate this below one star, I would.

When researching some other scents by this company, I was curious to try this incense for many reasons. When I was a kid back in the late sixties - early seventies, I used to go to couple of record store/head-shops to spend the day leafing through their stash of underground comics, and enjoying the mixture of smells that was unique to such an environment. When I asked what scent I was smelling I was told it was the combined fragrance of what the sold there. I remember this being a magical smell, it it epitomized & encapsulated everything that I thought of both then and now as psychedelic. The only other time I have encountered a scent that gave me this impression, it was the first time I stepped inside of a Hindu temple. To make a long story short, this incense smell very much (not entirely) like the exotic fragrances I mentioned earlier, and I was glad when it became available in bulk. I burn it all the time.

I have had the sandalwood scent as well and had no problems, but…half of the sticks won’t stay lit and require 2-3 times, sometimes more, lighting them before they burn down. They are are also hard to light. I have been burning incense for years and not had this problem with other sticks. Like I said, the scent is great, but they are a lot of work to use because it takes 10-15 seconds to get them lit (I have been lifting them off a candle now because a match and lighter it takes too long) and having to light them multiple times. The current stick I’m using is about be lit for a 3rd time and it is not yet half burned.
