I got this to have at work. It is ridiculously cold in my office! I often get that pinching feeling in my neck/shoulders from sitting at my desk and staring @ screens all day, and the cold office just exasperates the issue. This gets nice and toasty warm. I don't think you would need it to get much warmer, not sure what that other reviewer was looking for? The "massage" is just as it states - a constant vibrating. You can make it more of a pulsing vibration if you choose. It's not that digging-deep shiatsu feel. But it is soothing. One thing tho - it's kinda loud. I mean it is right on your shoulders below your ears so you're definitely gonna hear it! My workmates say they just hear a humming noise but it sounds alot louder to me. This is the reason for the 1 star deduction.(my shiatsu massager at home is super quiet) I have also just placed this on the back of my chair at work to warm up my lower back and have also put it across my lap or on my chair seat - office butt warmer! My lower back arthritis is happy! But all and all, I am happy with the product.

I purchased this a week ago. I have arthritis in my neck which also causes shoulder stiffness and migraines. I’ve used another type of product for the past few years that helped a bit, but they weren’t made well and I had to replace them fairly often. This is very soft, lays over your shoulders and a small part of your neck. It has 3 vibration levels plus a heating pad that gets warm but not overly hot like normal ones do. It relaxes and soothes your tired stiff aching neck. I am so pleased with it, I’m going to order a spare so I’ll have another when this one no longer works.

It says it's a heating pad but where is the heat? This is nothing like a heating pad. It don't even get warm enough to pimarate into the skin and muscles. It has hard ball type things in it but they don't move around, they pretty much stay put and vibrate. This company also has a NO REFUND policy. so once you bought it, your pretty much stuck with it.

It doesn't do much. the "massage" is actually at the top of your back, not on your shoulders and trying to move the thing so it actually hits the shoulders is awkward and ineffective. I keep trying, but this one really misses the mark. Homedics isn't what it used to be.

This massager was great in the beginning. It has a steady vibration or a pulse vibration. It's nice that you can add heat as well. After 2 months the right side mechanism started making an occasional clicking sound when in use. Then the right side started only working part of the time and getting very hot when used. The last time I used it I was actually worried it was going to catch fire. It would have been great if it had not began malfunctioning and doing so only after a few months.
