Q: Can I turn on the AC/heat with this on the vent?

I think so. I have used the holder on an extended road trip - 3000+ miles, and it did not affect either the phone - or the temperature in the car. Warm in the mornings, air con in the afternoon. The holder does not seat the phone so close to the vent that it blocks it, so air can move around it.
