Is there a panel that covers the seams in the crotch area?

Comfort Choice makes cotton boyshorts in 2 different styles, but the pictures look the same unless you look closely.  One style has a thinner elastic at the waist, and are very thin material.  These are usually sold in 10 packs.  The 2nd style has a wider elastic at the waist, are a heavier, soft cotton, and have a large diamond shape inside layer covering the seams at the crotch.  You can only buy this style as a 3 pack on Amazon.  They are available in 10 packs on other sites.  This style wears and washes well with no apparent shrinkage.  They are more expensive, but well worth it.  Pay attention to which style you are buying!

Question 2

Do pads stick well to the material?? Also are the in-seams at least 5.5" or more??

Inseam is at least 5.5". They are cheap fabric but insanely comfortable. Can't comment on the  pad issue, but they fit loose so I would say think they would not hold a pad snug enough to the body to be completely effective.

Question 3

I need  a looser fit, no clinging tightly to body, and have 43" hips.  What size to order?  9?

I wouldn't know the size for you, but keep in mind that these do stretch quite a bit. That's wonderful for my needs, but they stretch to the point where when I put them on and take them off, the feel like a different size all together. They aren't tight at all for me. I don't know what my measurements are (lost the damn measuring tape) I wear a 26W in womans and I ordered an 11 for the undies. I am more up front than the back (in other words I have no behind really) so I always wear the underwear backwards too. They fit so much better. It sounds bananas and I originally seen it being discussed in a group I was in and it thing I never knew I needed. Maybe it will help you. Also, these undies are rather thin. A lot of that has to do with the stretch. When you put them on they're fine and hour by hour they get looser and thinner. I wish they could come up with underwear for bigger people without all the nonsense. Good luck!

Question 4

The latest product photos (Oct 2021) appear to have a seam running up the center of the front and back? No gusset in crotch?

These underwear have a seam that runs all the way around the crotch area. With a small patch fabric for crotch. But the seams are to much, I diden't like the fact that their was so less crotch. Area like normal underwear. And I returned them.
