Effective, but can be difficult
The new strings work great, but replacing them can be difficult because the laces will fray, making it hard to thread through the zipper. Overall, definitely worth the money.

A bit different but works fine
I could not find the original style shoe lace for my Salomon hiking shoes, but these worked fine. The part that holds the shoe lace ends is different, perhaps easier to reuse next time.
