SANGEAN Electronics DAR-101

I bought this DAR-101 after my Sony ICDLX30BLK Digital Flash Voice Recorder was stolen. At 1st this looks like a solid component and much larger than the Sony. It is definitely more conspicuous than the Sony! I even fashioned a nice carrying case because liked the retro look with simple controls.But this is a FRAGILE device! When recording Line-In there is a very loud and painful "chirp" on the playback when I have paused and restarted a piece of music or recording. The pause button is finicky and you really have to press hard to make sure it reads "pause" and visa versa to "play".Not a bonus when I am working fast and multi tasking. PLUS ... After only 2 1/2 months the Charger is not working and the speaker is broken with horrible distortion! I have to use headphones for playback, but I wonder how long that will last! Going to try to send this back and get another Sony.
