Style and the Man

Easier to comprehend and digest than dressing the man
I really like this little book. It's easier to comprehend and digest than dressing the man by the same author. Obviously more compact and direct. Just flick through and grab the tips on styling and fit as and when needed, or read front to back. Or both. Happy.

... and 'White Collar' wanting to know why everyone looked great and despite my efforts to look smart and well ...
I bought this after watching countless episodes of 'Suits' and 'White Collar' wanting to know why everyone looked great and despite my efforts to look smart and well dressed, couldn't quite understand why (on a budget) I never quite got there. This book helped fill in the gaps, and I am now able to shop armed with a far better understanding of why clothes look the way they do, how they should appear and even allow me to walk into a charity shop and - as I did this week - walk out with £2000 worth of clothes for less than £30... An essential book for the man who wants to look 'better'.

Very informative, a really good read on how & why to dress well...
This book covers every thing from cuff and collar to be shown on a jacket, how to knot a tie & fold a pocket square to materials and fabric construction in menswear. It advises on how certain body types should choose to buy and why...It is aimed at the 'classic dressing animal' rather than the 'tracksuit tribe' which pretty much ensures the advice given is timeless for the 'sharp dressed man'Easily navigated & absorbed with clear & concise chapters, when I first opened this book, it was more than half read by the time I had put it down!

I bought several books in this genre for my husband. This was by far the best one.A must read for anyone wishing to deepen their knowledge in formal male fashion - be prepared to throw out all your shirts when you realise that they do not fit you though.

Not worth the money
Not an easy read. Unnecessary use of old/fancy-sounding English and pompous use of French words (debonair, habillement etc.) when plain English could have done the job better. Way too detailed in words and hardly any illustrations for such a topic.
